Today your flight will touch down in Urumqi. We will meet you at the airport exit with a welcome board. Then a comfortable drive will send you to the local hotel for check in. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own. Rest up and get ready for tomorrow's adventure!
Today you will enjoy the tour of the picturesque Heavenly Lake (approximately 1.5hrs). 2000m up in the Tianshan mountain range, it is surrounded by the snow mountains, blooming wildflowers, and evergreen pine trees. After 40-minute scenic shuttle bus ride that twists though the dramatic mountains, you can either walk to the lakeside in 10mins or take an electronic cart. There are 3 options suggested: Boat cruise to take the incredible view of Tianshan Mountain; trek along the lake in the fresh air; or you can explore further to the Maya Mountain by the cable car to enjoy the magnificent view.
After visiting, we will continue the journey to Karamay. Upon arrival, transfer to the downtown hotel for overnight stay.
Heavenly Lake
Heavenly LakeToday's highlight is a morning excursion to the Urho Ghost City, also known as "Wuerhe Wind City", a unique wind-eroded geological area commonly referred to as "wind city" because of the frequent howling winds.
Thereafter, drive to Burqin. There, you can admire the Sunset of Colored beach. In the evening, walk around the street in Burqin, enjoy your leisure time and tasty snacks. We will spend the night in Burqin.

The Urho Ghost CityAfter breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel. Then, drive along the mountain road to Kanas Nature Reserve. It is China's only European-like ecological site that has been awarded the title of the "Pure Land of the World" due to its unspoiled natural scenery.
En-route, visit Kanas Lake. Upon arrival, you will change the shuttle bus to the inside of the Reserve to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then head to the Fish Pavilion and enjoy a panoramic view of Kanas.
Later afternoon, we will back to Jiadengyu district to check into the hotel. Enjoy your dinner and have a good rest!

Kanas Nature ReserveArrangements for today make for the experience of a lifetime.
We will first head to visit the most beautiful Tuwa village -- Hemu village, which is one of the famous Tuwa villages. Arriving at the entrance of Hemu, we still have to change the shuttle bus to the village. Here we would like to suggest you leave your big luggage in our coach and take your must stuff.
Tranquil village, herds of cattle and sheep, as well as warm and hospitable locals. What a beautiful and mysterious place! If you want to experience the life of Tuwa people, they will very welcome you to visit their family.
Hemu Village
Hemu VillageIn the morning, wake up leisurely and enjoy the fresh air in Hemu. If you have interest, you can also go to the platform to see the sunrise and have a bird's-eye view of the whole village.
Then drive to Fuhai along the Gogi Desert. We will pass by Ulungu Lake, the largest permanent freshwater lake in northern Xinjiang. It is well known for its fabulous natural scenery. Covering 827 square kilometers in area, it is also an ideal home for migratory birds.

Ulungu LakeSay farewell to Fuhai and we will continue the trip to Keketuohai and go into Keketuohai National Geological Park.
On the way there, you can enjoy the beautiful Kekesuli. As one of the main components of the Keketuohai scenic area, it is a naturally formed marsh. In the geological park, you will see "Haizi Kou" and explore the Tunnel of Mine No 3, which comprises many types of minerals. Take a tram ride and travel along Irtysh Grand Canyon till you reach Shenzhong Mountain and visit the "Earthquake Museum".
Keketuohai
KeketuohaiToday after breakfast, we will take a 6-7 hours' driving back to Urumqi.
After arriving, we will check into the hotel first, then our guide and driver will show you around the Urumqi city. You can shop freely in Grand Bazaar, either to buy some special products for your family and friends; or just explore the cultural customs of Urumqi.
Next, we will transfer you to hotel and have a good rest!

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
