8 Days Wild Grassland Trekking: Karajun to Qiaxi

Welcome to Yining, the first city on our trip. We will wait for you at the airport exit. Then you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Have a good rest or stroll around at Liuxing Street or Kazanqi Folk Village if you are interested. Later in the afternoon, we will prepare a welcome dinner for you. Hope you a great time!

Your today's trip now kicks off! After breakfast, we are going to purchase some snacks or trekking equipment for the trip.

Then we will drive to Tekes to visit the famous Bagua City, the only city without traffic lights in the world. The whole Tekes County was designed and built according to the orientation of the Eight Diagrams of the Book of Changes. The city center radiates eight streets, namely, "Qian"(乾), "Dui"(兑), "Li"(离), "Zhen"(震), "Xun"(巽), "Kan"(坎), "Gen"(艮), and "Kun"(坤), from the inside to the outside. It is said that even people without sense of direction won't get lost here.

Next, we will head to Qiongkushitai, which is an ancient Kazakh village like a paradise. As we approached Qiongkushitai Village, we will pass through a pure and beautiful pasture with a velvet like texture. The naturally formed gullies, like the gentle curves of a woman's body, exude enchantment in the light and shadow.

Arrangements for today make for the experience of a lifetime as we will start our trek at 9:00, walking from nomad campsite to West Kalajun.

Today's walking distance is about 18kms, and it may be a little exhausting. Along the way, you can admire the land of idyllic beauty with snow-capped mountains, green spruce forest and grassland view.

After about 3-4h hours trekking, we will arrive at Kurdai River, where we will have lunch and take a short break. Then continue our trek to Jiasagan village. The next is an uphill road, which is not easy to walk. Luckily, scenery along the way is beautiful, which will push you walk through the difficulties.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Jiasagan village. You must be hungry and exhausted by then. Don't worry. We will prepare delicious dinner for you. After enjoying dinner, you can lay on grassland and immerse yourself in starry sky. Have a nice dream and a good rest! 

Get up at 8:00 in the morning and pack up your equipment! Enjoy your breakfast and then we will start our trekking walking from West Karajun to East Karajun. Today's walking distance is about 18kms. The road conditions are mainly flat and gentle slopes.

Starting at 9 o'clock, we will hike through the Flower Terrace, accompanied by the Kurdai Grand Canyon along the way. On the south bank of the canyon, there are towering snow-capped mountains with deep valleys, lush vegetation, majestic snow capped mountains, scattered and rich scenery, and vast and magnificent grandeur. This is the most magnificent section of the Grand Canyon and the most beautiful grassland on this planet.

At night, we will camp at East Karajun, and if weather is good, we can take photos of the starry sky on the prairie after dinner.

In the morning, wake up leisurely and enjoy the gentle sunshine! Then pack up your equipment, and remember to bring some drinking water with you.

We will start trekking through East Karajun Grassland. There is a vast sea of flowers, flocks of cattle, sheep, horses, and Kazakh yurts here. If we encounter a herdsman, we will be lucky to be warmly invited to his house as a guest. At noon, we will have lunch at the highest point on the grassland.

In the afternoon, we will slowly walk down to the Tarim Scenic Area. Before going down the slope, we suggest you take knee pads and adjust the height of trekking pole to protect your knees. Along the way, we will be accompanied by snow mountains. Upon arrival at Tarim Village, we will stay overnight in Kazakh yurts. Today's dinner is tasty hand grabbed mutton. Hope you enjoy it!

Say farewell to Tarim and we will depart at 9:00 am.

Trek on the Tarim Grassland, slowly ascending all the way. Step by step, slowly downhill, sometimes you can turn around to look back at the road when we came. Along such a mountain path, we strive to hike deeper into the white clouds and grasslands.

Qiaxi is located in the southeastern mountainous area of Gongliu. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the climate is pleasant. It is backed by snowy mountains. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Qiaxi and today we will stay overnight in Kazakh yurt in the forest. In the evening, we will arrange a sumptuous local meal for you. Enjoy yourself and feel relaxed!

Today's highlight is a morning excursion to Mohur. We will first trek through the Qiaxi Grassland. On the top of the Yili Grassland, there are blue sky, snowy mountains, forests, grasslands, cattle and sheep, streams, and wooden houses. The beauty is unparalleled, with beautiful and smooth curves, and the natural integration of people and scenery is seamless. We believe that this wild in-depth trekking trip will leave you many surprises and unforgettable memories. At night, we will camp at Mohur Campsite.

This wonderful day will start from driving back to Yining. Upon arrival at around noon, we are going to enjoy a farewell banquet.

Then we will transfer you to the Yining airport to catch your flight back to your sweet home. Always hard to say goodbye and we wish you a nice journey home!
