Monument on the Gedeng Mountain

The monument stands on the Gedeng Mountain in Zhaosu County. In 1760, for marking the troops of the Qing Dynasty putting down the rebellion headed by Dawaqi, head of the Jungar tribe, on the Gedeng Mountain, the emperor Qianlong ordered to erect the Gedeng Mountain Monument for Putting down the Jun gar Tribe and wrote personally the inscriptions. The monument is 2.9 meters high, 0.83 meter wide, with a thickness of 0.29 meter, and engraved inscriptions in Manchu, Chinese, Mongolian and Tibetan, among them the Chinese part total over 200 characters. The monument is listed as a major cultural site protected by the autonomous region.
