The People's Park

The People's Park in Urumqi has an average elevation of 800 meters and is located 100 meters west of the "Changqiao Yinma" sculpture. It was a lake on the west bank of the Urumqi River, surrounded by ancient trees. When Urumqi City was built in the 20th year of the Qing Emperor Qianlong (1755). The land was turned into an official place for rest.

In the nine years of Guangxu (1883), the park was built. In 1918, Yang Zengxin, who was in charge of Xinjiang, expanded and dredged the lake, renovating the lakeshore, modeling the ancient Fengyuan Pavilion in the Central Plains, and then building the Dragon King Temple, the drunk Xiating Pavilion, the Xiaochun Pavilion, the Jianhu Pavilion, and To commemorate the Qing Dynasty university Ji Xiaolan, the "Lianwei Caotang" and so on.

Now the trees in the garden are towering and the flowers are everywhere. There are gardens with winding paths, fascinating "Crystal Palace", sculptures in front of the pavilion, and attractions such as children's amusement parks and roller skating rinks. From spring and autumn, there are flower exhibitions, bonsai exhibitions, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and photography exhibitions. Longdong Sanjiu often holds ice sculpture events and skating sports.
