Meshrep in Hami

It's a traditional type of folk songs and dances of the Uygur in Hami, and very popular and widespread in local inhabitants. There are different types of Meshrep according to seasons and circumstances, such as Green Seeding Meshrep, Karl Meshrep, Balawati Meshrep, etc. The relics of dancing styles of the primitive religions and totem in Ancient Western Regions can be traced in the Sama Dance at the beginning of a Meshrep and the Xiadiya Dance at the climax.
