Kermuqi Tombs with Stone Coffin

Kermuqi Tombs with Stone Coffin Located in Qiemurqik Village, about 20 kilometers to the southwest of Altay City, the tombs date from the Warring States to the Tang Dynasty. Now it is listed as a cultural site under autonomous region protection. In 1962, there excavated several tens tombs here, of which some are tombs with stone statues and stone coffin and some have an enclosure on the ground and a stone coffin in their pits. Generally, the stone statues stand in front of the stone coffin and face east. From the tombs were unearthed stone arrowheads, small bronze knives, plain bronze mirrors, pottery, stone containers, iron tools and weapons, and golden vessels, showing different features of different tribes and different times.
