Hemu Village


As the most attractive, and primitive village in KanasHemu Village is known as "the first village in China". It is an exquisite and unique wooden house village with a small bridge and flowing water, snow peaks, forests, grasslands, blue sky, and white clouds, which is quite magnificent.

Hemu is the paradise of photographers, Many might have already heard of the serene beauty of Kanas Lake, but here in Hemu Village, the green grassland, boundless forest, and misty snowcapped mountains welcome you to a hidden Chinese fairyland. the scenic Area is located in Burqin County, Altay District, about 30 kilometers east of Kanas Lake. It is a small village inhabited by Kazakhs and Tuwa people. 1) The primitive villages and Tuva ethnic group in Hemu

Hemu Village is the largest and most remote of the three residences of the Tuva ethnic group. The other two are Kanas Village and Baihaba Village, both located in Xinjiang. The locals have maintained their simple and ancient lifestyle, with many still making a living through animal husbandry. The residential area is characterized by scattered wooden houses, with roofs generally nailed with wood. Additionally, each door opens to the east.

2) Hemu River and Hemu Viewing Platform

Opposite the residential area is the Hemu River, which is fed by water from the nearby snow-capped mountain. There are two bridges over the river known as the Hemu Bridges. One is for visitors to access the Hemu viewing platform, while the other is primarily used by local herders and their livestock. Hemu Village is a paradise for photographers, offering stunning opportunities for capturing both sunrises and sunsets. As night falls, the sky becomes adorned with countless stars, creating a mysterious and mesmerizing view. Best Time to Hemu Village

The best season for visiting Hemu Village is from June to October, at this time, the birch trees on both sides of the village have golden leaves, and the top of the mountain begins to snow into a small snow mountain, like a fairy tale.

1) Visit Hemu Village during the autumn season

Many simply can't resist the temptation to visit Hemu Village during the autumn season when the golden leaves cast a glow over the whole village. The mountains and forests are reflected in the water, forming a surreal watercolor painting. You might also be able to witness the lake change its color several times a day.

2) Visit Hemu Village during the winter season

Growing winter tourism has given the homestay business a shot in the arm in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Diverse winter fun programs and more trains and flights have heated up the region's winter. Local authorities now offer more than 130 tourism activities through March last year, and major scenic spots provide free or discounted skiing and dining tickets.
